Hello, everyone!! I thought today I would do a blog post on what I am currently reading. I don't usually read many books at the same time however ever since the beginning of this year I just cannot read one book at once. I am very much enjoying these particular books, however some more than others. It is a combination of fantasy, literary realism, and fiction.

First up, we have A Dress For The Wicked. The story follows a young girl named Emmaline Watkins ('Emmy' for short) a country girl who grew up in the small and quiet town of Shy. However, when the designer of the country's most respectable fashion house invites girls from all over the nation to participate in her prestigious fashion design competition, Emmy's dreams seem closer than ever. Emmy is aware that she will face extra challenges as the first "country girl" to compete.
I enjoy reading about fashion and the life of a fashion designer, especially during the Victorian era. This book describes the fashion in such great detail, it truly is magical. The world-building and plot, however, were quite underwhelming. I found the book to be very slow-paced and the main character to be not very interesting. So I did find it difficult to finish. Overall, I would give this book a 2/5.
Taking place in 19th century, aristocratic Russia, Anna Karenina is a classic of literature. The book deals with every aspect of society on all levels, including fate, death, and the bitter conflicts of life. It highlights the struggles of family life, personal conflict, social expectations, and betrayal.
Despite being only halfway through, I am finding the book to be quite interesting. I enjoy the fact that every few pages or so we are quickly introduced to a different character and their story as well as their narration. The beginning of the book is rather slow however, it does quickly pick up the pace. The main character after which the book is named is only introduced later on in the book.
I cannot give an overall rating of this book, as I have not finished it yet however so far I would give it a 3.5/5.

Last but certainly not least we have Once Upon A Broken Heart. The book follows Evangeline Fox, who is forced to make a deal with the infamous Prince of Hearts in order to save her happily ever after. However, things don't go to plan and Evangeline finds herself having to endure a number of struggles before she can get the happily ever after she is so desperate for.
This book is one of my top 5 most favourite books of all time. I had read the Caraval series before I read this and completely fell in love with the world-building and the characters, so I was so excited about this book. And it did not disappoint, I finished the book in one sitting and quickly moved on to the sequel 'The Ballad of Never After'. The author has confirmed that there will be a third book in the series and I could not be more excited. I would give this book a 5/5.
I thoroughly enjoyed this week's current books, and I hope this helps you find your next read. And if you have read any of these books, let me know your thoughts, if you have any suggestions on what books I should read next feel free to leave a comment. I hope to see you in my next blog post!
